ABOUT the Owners
Katie
A Central Pennsylvania native, Katie is a lover of books and the planet, and the owner of Katiedyd's Book Nook. She graduated from Pennsylvania State University in December of 2020 with an Associate of Arts Degree in Letters, Arts, and Sciences. With over 1100 books in her personal collection, Katie spends her free time reading, taking care of her many plants, and learning about astronomy related topics. She is passionate about protecting the planet and aims to make the bookstore and her home life as sustainable as possible. Katie also writes and has several publications aside from her book blog called Katie's Corner that is hosted through the bookstore.
Travis
Travis is a general partner of Katiedyd's Book Nook but can be seen more frequently in his garage than the bookstore. A native to North Carolina, he moved to Pennsylvania at a young age. Travis enjoys working with his hands and his hobbies include cars, computers, and gaming. After Katiedyd's Book Nook is settled as a brick-and-mortar bookstore, Travis is going to focus on his own car business named Hitz Motorsports. There he plans to make YouTube videos about the repair and modification of motorized vehicles.

Both Central Pennsylvania residents, the high school sweethearts have been together since 2013. They live with their five cats and a chinchilla. There is 5-year-old Peaches, 3-year-olds Perceus, Penguin, Pthumbs, Pickett, and 10-year-old ChinChin.
After working as a bookseller for several years, Katie started a book blog in September of 2020, which now pairs with the bookstore. It has been dubbed Katie's Corner and covers all types of book topics along with some personal ones to Katie, Travis, and the bookstore. Growing up, Katie had many different involvements throughout her town and surrounding area through volunteering. She participated in summer children's programs, pancake breakfasts, and Girl Scouts, with whom she is now a lifetime member. She grew to care for the support of a well-rounded community and now tries to help other small businesses and artisans local to Katiedyd's Book Nook. Katie dreamed of owning a bookstore that could bring people from near and far to browse its shelves and be encouraged to love reading. Now that dream is becoming a reality.
Throughout his life, Travis was very active. He has participated in a wide variety of sports including but not limited to: football, baseball, volleyball, cheerleading, snowboarding, ultimate frisbee, etc. He also spent a lot of time helping his father work on vehicles, which is where his love of cars arose from. In August of 2020, Travis got his first project car, the 300ZX, started his YouTube channel, and has been working towards his own dream ever since.
The two met in kindergarten at the age of 5 and grew up within the same school district. When they were juniors in high school, they began dating and have been together ever since. The couple has been through much together such as several moves, a number of pets, and some life changing decisions. In October of 2020, shortly after Katie began her book blog and during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, they decided to open a bookstore.
